If my memory serves me correct, I shot this quickly during a car ride climbing out of the epic mountains during golden hour. So the shutter speed had to be very fast.

I took this image in the epic mountain ranges of Northern Philippines. When people think of the Philippines, pine trees and chilly mountains, do not necessarily come to mind. Though that is the land of my birth. The Northern part of the Philippines, riddled with mountains covered in green pine trees. Similar to Northern California in a lot of ways - except tropical!
The light that falls on this part of the Earth during golden hour is incredible. I have seen some of the best sunsets of my life here.
While traveling, you will not always find yourself in the most ideal situation to take a great photo. Though if the light rays ROAR gold - be decisive and take the shot. Like an ancient mountaineer with a spear hunting the wild boars of the Pacific.

I decided my first blog post on this website (I have experience building several) would be of this epic bird I shot with my very capable Panasonic G85. This was shot with a telephoto zoom set to 150mm with a micro four thirds sensor, which would roughly equal the view of a 300mm focal length on a full frame camera. After editing the RAW file in Lightroom, the amazing pinks in the clouds were brought out, giving a nice backdrop to the bird - which makes you ponder about life and time itself. This bird looks like he’s wearing a headband. He reminds me of an ancient traveler wearing a headband on a journey to search for epic food that is worth the long trek. This is just the beginning, I will be posting more photos/stories soon.
